Our Philosophy

  • AE Boys League exists to provide boys with the opportunity to play and enjoy volleyball in a competitive yet safe and fun environment. To this end, we encourage all those interested, regardless of experience and ability, to join our program and play on our teams.
  •  If you don't know how to play, we will teach you.  There are no tryouts - all those who register are placed on a team as long as there is space.
  •  We promote maximizing ball "touches" as the best way for players to master volleyball skills, and participating in competitive league matches as the best way to learn and enjoy the game.

Program Scope

  • The boys volleyball season runs from mid-September through mid-November
  • The first phase of the season involves one practice per week aimed at developing foundational volleyball skills such as passing, setting, hitting and serving. Experienced coaches run the practices.
  • In the second phase, teams continue to meet once a week to practice, and once a week to play league matches.
  • At the end of the season, playoffs are held to determine season champions.
  • A few friendly matches against teams from other boys volleyball programs in the area may also be scheduled.

Player Commitment

  • The commitment level is intended to be student-friendly and multi-sport friendly.
  •  1 practice on a weekday for 2 hours between 6-8pm at our facility (4317 Ravensworth Rd, Annandale).
  •  1 match (3 games) for 1 hour each week on Saturdays at McLean and Vienna area school gyms.

Volunteers

We are looking for adult and HS student volunteers to help with all aspects of the boys volleyball program. We have volunteer positions at different levels of commitment that can fit into busy schedules.

Our primary need is for team coaches and assistant coaches. We plan to provide training, mentoring and supporting materials regardless of previous volleyball and coaching experience.

If you have questions, please contact us at  stan@arlingtonelitevbc.com

We look forward to seeing you on the court!

SHOULD I REGISTER IF I CAN’T MAKE ALL PRACTICES OR GAMES?

We would like you to attend all practices and games, however, we understand if you need to miss a few times. Don’t let that stop your son from discovering and enjoying a great sport.

MY SON IS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUT WANTS TO "PLAY UP" IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM
We prefer to keep boys with their age group. However, we will make exceptions for boys with prior volleyball experience. Please contact stan@arlingtonelitevbc.com

WHAT IF WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS FOR A TEAM?
We're believe that there will be enough registrations to form an elementary and middle-school team.  In the case our teams don't materialize, then your son will be placed with another team in the MVP league. EVERYONE registered with us will get a chance to play volleyball on a team.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
Make sure you’re registered through our website.  Second, help us spread the word!

Congratulations for an extraordinary 2016 season going 7-2 and winning third place in the NoVA Boys Middle-School league!
